Vitra Tower: A Serene and Contemporary Medical Office Building

Redesigning the Perception of Conventional Elements

The Vitra Tower, designed by Alberto Torres, is a unique and innovative medical office building located in Santo Angelo, Brazil. With its architectural design that conveys seriousness and a touch of contemporary elegance, this building stands out among others of its kind. By incorporating unconventional elements and a thoughtful approach, the Vitra Tower redefines the concept of a medical office building.

The inspiration for the Vitra Tower came from the client's desire to create a medical office building that would set itself apart from others. Alberto Torres and his team sought inspiration from both conventional commercial buildings and successful architectural designs that have tackled similar challenges. The goal was to create a building that exudes professionalism while providing a pleasant and comfortable environment for its occupants.

What sets the Vitra Tower apart is its architectural design that combines a characteristic glass skin with a large concrete grid that covers almost the entire facade. The grid features varying spacings, adding dynamism and visual interest to the building. This unique feature not only enhances the building's aesthetics but also contributes to its overall functionality.

The construction of the Vitra Tower utilized techniques, technologies, and materials commonly found in the interior region of Rio Grande do Sul. The building's structural system is made of reinforced concrete, with masonry walls and a glass skin. The exterior finishing is done with tiles, while the concrete grid on the facade adds a touch of elegance. Wood is also incorporated in certain areas, adding warmth and texture to the design.

The Vitra Tower consists of eleven levels, with seven standard floors housing three rooms each. The smaller rooms face the front, with a private area of 35.00 m² each, while a larger room at the back offers 65.00 m² of private area. The top two floors feature a duplex clinic with a terrace occupying the entire floors, providing a total of 310.00 m² of private area. The basement, ground floor, and second floor are dedicated to private garages, infrastructure, and the main access and circulation hall.

Designed by Torres Arquitetos Associados and constructed by Daniel Ongaratto, the Vitra Tower is a testament to the successful collaboration between talented architects and builders. The project not only meets the functional requirements of a medical office building but also adds a touch of sophistication and contemporary design to the city of Santo Angelo.

The Vitra Tower stands as a prime example of a building that successfully combines professionalism and elegance. It challenges the conventional perception of medical office buildings and creates a serene and contemporary environment for its users. With its unique architectural design and thoughtful execution, the Vitra Tower is set to become a landmark in the city of Santo Angelo.
